That Canadian pin is actually a great idea to keep from losing the poppy or stabbing myself with the darn poppy straight pin all the time

I felt like a bad Canadian when I had no idea who this guy was. Francis Pegahmagabow was the most effective sniper of WW1 with 350+ kills. Also served as a scout and a messenger.
Now for the Americans, Alvin York. Kicked butt all through the Argonne forest.
Sabaton has be to one of the most educational bands out there. Honestly can't say they have a song I don't like. They also started a history channel explaining every one of their songs. Sabaton History -

Given that the whole kerfuffle today started with a Veterans Day theme - I’ll share this.
The young mans anger began from a trip to Europe, where in his opinion, immigrants had ‘invaded’ European lands. His motivation for an attack began at a military cemetery in France where he lamented that the lives lost defending against domination - were for nothing.
I was expecting the rants of a deranged psychopath. I had to concede that he was certainly intelligent, and had simply drawn a line in the sand.
It’s uncomfortable for most to examine others belief and motive, especially when it deals with events like these.
Also difficult for me to offer an opinion either way as an immigrant.

Its funny you mention training for a distance run at a lower intensity. When I trained for my first half marathon I went at it hard as I could, as long as I could and as often as I could. I pulled off a 1:46 for the first race. This year I rested more, trained at a lower pace and ran shorter distances. I ran it 10 minutes quicker. A few hardcore ultramarathoners in the run group I joined said the same thing too.
I appreciate all the good advice everyone. Going to look into getting a heart rate monitor when I kick back into training mode this spring. -
