Celadon closing up shop!

Big G, where I work is offering transportation and expedited hiring process for displaced Celadon drivers.

 

Very true, trucker jobs are a dime a dozen. But unfortunately it won’t be as easy for all the mechanics and the office staff to find new jobs

 

Yes it is. I can not remember all the details (been to long), but he had worked for a company that went under in the late 70's or early 80's and watched alot of people get hurt. He summarized what he observed and what he learned from it (He was always learning things). I gathered the first sign of something was about to go under was the stock price falling to almost nothing, then chaos ensued. Wish I had it recorded, cause it is quite ironic now, watching all this.

 

Celadon is getting bus tickets for any driver that hasn't made it home yet. They aren't leaving anyone stranded.

They offered to keep me there until Wednesday to help wind things down. I opted to walk now.

At least they had the integrity to not leave them stranded.

As for the 12 million market cap, that's peanuts compared to the $175 million owed to the lenders.

Party is quite over.

 

Thanks for the updates, I am saddened by what has happened. Celadon was my favorite company to work for and I only left them because of the market crash in 2007. My thoughts and prayers are with you and every former employee affected by this

 

My Celadon stock was worth about 28 bucks last night. Today it's worth about $2.21.

I can't even sell it

 

I appreciate it. I'll be fine, I have options. The drivers have options. There are quite a few people that are not so lucky. I feel very bad for those people.

I'll probably just hang on to it in case the NC subsidiary winds up being worth anything...
