I drove for three years as a company driver and a year and a half as an LP and can I tell you: This company will find every way it can to avoid paying you for your work.
If you don't want to run 3300 miles to be told that *you* owe them $10,000 - RUN!
If you don't like a company that double dips - charges both you and the shipper for lumper fees - stay away!
If you your linehaul gross to actually be the amount quote - not $1000 less per load - look elsewhere!
If you don't want to pay for OPS ####ups - out of your pocket and yesterday - forget it!

Most LP programs don't pay the truck what the customer pays. Company will make a % or flat fee from every load.
Lumper fees should be reimbursed or added into the cost of the load. Tolls, pallets etc. should also be spelled out in that stack of paperwork you signed as to whom is responsible.Veteran driver and Lonesome Thank this. -

Running 3300 miles and being told I owed them occurred throughout. -

This is why you read the contract before signing anything. If you are signed onto a company, even your own truck or leasing it, there should be no lumper to you or the truck because you are giving them the opportunity to have your truck run for them and make them money.

Well, I’m sure this is the exception and I wouldn’t judge all LP deals based on this one experience.
Go find another one. I bet it’ll be swell and you will be merry and live happily ever after.
