OK, I read both those articles you posted. Mercer had a couple of bad eggs, they were dealt with, as were the DoD pair involved in their scheme. The G further alleges that Mercer knew about the illegalities... This still has yet to be proved though.

This type of behavior, unfortunately, is not uncommon now a days, and at first glance tends to reflect badly on the company. There are the 1% that are always trying to get one over. But alas, the big question, "was Mercer complicit" has yet to be proven.

As far as your complaint regarding not being paid what was contractually owed you, let us know at the conclusion of your civil suit. If true, like you, I'd be angry about it too. I would imagine others would like to see the truth cards on the table also. There are always two sides to every sordid story, somewhere in the middle is the truth....

Remember, being an O/O is running your own business, and that includes signing contracts, that are drawn up by legal weasels to protect the interests of the company, not you. It behooves one to seek out counsel to help navigate the myriad of legal jargon to protect your business interests. Good luck to you.....

When I had my own company I had oral agreements with customers to haul their freight. Better yet they paid cash at time of pickup, that's a good customer. Don't say something NEVER happens.

Question .... when you agreed to haul a load did you get paid the amount you agreed to haul it for? By accepting a load offer that in itself is a contract, you agreed to haul for a certain amount, and if that is what you were paid it is more difficult to argue for more in my opinion.
