I don't like wide high loads as a rule. Too much pain. Because they always have to go into the smallest of places.

There is a transformer freight that rides on 30 axles plus and high and wide come through 64 in the valley weekly or a little less. Hes oversize all by hisself and takes her onto the US67 freeway north after checking that particular overpass near a town near me. God only knows what his weight is. But that bridge took it well since it recieved a new deck for the third time in 15 years.

    D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

What is there is there? Funny because I run almost 98% off the load board also. And I’d rather run out of money at home then hauling the loads you posted. Maybe Im wrong though.

No your not wrong. Good for you all your runs pay better than what I posted. Location and when matter. I just posted a few loads. They aren't all the best pay, they aren't all the worst.
Sure there are higher paying loads. I don't haul heavy and I don't haul over 14'6".
When I anticipate that $7-$10 per mile load will take longer loading and unloading, than driving or with escorts,
    I pass.

Well thats why i post this thread so i can get a ballpark for what a good rate is. It is hard for somebody like me that just started at this to know if 3 dollar a mile rate like i posted is a good one or not and it seems to be not so good . i know u guys that have been doing this for a long time u understand what is a good rate or not a good rate and have lived thru and experienced different market conditions . it is a struggle right now to find legal flatbed freight for over 2 dollar a mile off the load boards, so obviously ive expanded my search into the oversize area but i want to make sure i am getting a good number and not driving the rates down further

I commend you for bravery in asking the questions, and putting on the flame suit :)

You’ll learn as I did - trial and error, and valuing yourself and your time invested into loads that are outside the ‘bricks and sticks’ realm.

If we all committed to a ‘bottom dollar’ minimum, then some upwards unity might be achieved. But - there will always be a truck willing to run it for less.

You will sometimes take a load that you have to chalk up as education. That is not all bad if you actually use it for education and do not do them on a repeat basis.
the first load I ever took to alaska, sounded like a good paying load, instead it was an eye opening education. I have watched countless drivers get the same education, some learn with one trip, some never figure it out. lol
