About 25 mins from downtown Indy. If your truly curious which side of town then send a PM.
I’m on city water and have a septic system. Buried electric line coming from the pole at the road to the house. 1700sq feet. Hell when I lived in town I had water and sewer and paid
$650/yr but that was only 900 sq feet and in an addition. I live on an acre now. You of course pay monthly for water and sewer usage to the utility.
anyway, I was just surprised to hear how much other places are. I had no idea.
Three years of own authority costs combined.

Believe me their prices are much less..................around 20%.
And they might have a buyback(=minimum price they will get after 3y or 4y).
So no risk to them.
I know 1 trucking compagny that is happy to run without profit on the trucking part.
As long as the trucks get paid offf.
His profit is the $$$$ he gets when he sells his trucks.Rideandrepair and Midwest Trucker Thank this. -

My point is you don't have to live in the middle of no where in order to get reasonable taxes. Small cities offer everything the big ones do with lower cost of living, lower taxes, lower crime, and better schools.kemosabi49, HopeOverMope, dwells40 and 4 others Thank this. -
That $9k tax figure would have me running.
We pay $1k in taxes. 2700sq ft house with 3,000 sq ft shop and garage - well water and septic tank and swimming pool on 20 acres.
2 miles outside a little town, 20 miles to Joplin and 40 to Springfield.
Plenty of neighbors around, we’re just all spread out. I realize we all have to live somewhere - I just don’t see any reason to live in a city.
Even a trip to Joplin leaves me aggravated with traffic.kemosabi49, dwells40, TallJoe and 3 others Thank this. -
