About 25 mins from downtown Indy. If your truly curious which side of town then send a PM.

I’m on city water and have a septic system. Buried electric line coming from the pole at the road to the house. 1700sq feet. Hell when I lived in town I had water and sewer and paid
$650/yr but that was only 900 sq feet and in an addition. I live on an acre now. You of course pay monthly for water and sewer usage to the utility.

anyway, I was just surprised to hear how much other places are. I had no idea.

I had a far cousin that was accountant at a big carrier.
Believe me their prices are much less..................around 20%.
And they might have a buyback(=minimum price they will get after 3y or 4y).
    So no risk to them.
I know 1 trucking compagny that is happy to run without profit on the trucking part.
As long as the trucks get paid offf.
His profit is the $$$$ he gets when he sells his trucks.

My taxes on the house are just over 1k. That's on a 2700 sq ft house built in 98 with good hurricane windows and doors, 100 amp service which is more than sufficient for a house, city water, cable, high speed internet, etc. Inside city limits in a nice subdivision 1/3rd of a mile from the elementary school, 3/4 mile from the middle and high schools, walmart marketplace publix and cvs at the first intersection a half mile past the schools with the city community center and water park between them. 2 miles past that intersection is a Walmart supercenter, Lowe's home depot another publix and a dozen or so restaurants a golf course and another city park. Going the other way from the house 2 miles is two parks, a Winn Dixie, and more stores.

My point is you don't have to live in the middle of no where in order to get reasonable taxes. Small cities offer everything the big ones do with lower cost of living, lower taxes, lower crime, and better schools.

That $9k tax figure would have me running.

We pay $1k in taxes. 2700sq ft house with 3,000 sq ft shop and garage - well water and septic tank and swimming pool on 20 acres.

2 miles outside a little town, 20 miles to Joplin and 40 to Springfield.

Plenty of neighbors around, we’re just all spread out. I realize we all have to live somewhere - I just don’t see any reason to live in a city.

Even a trip to Joplin leaves me aggravated with traffic.
