All a big joke unless someone is killed. I know first hand that even with dates, names and truck numbers, a trucking company knows ahead of time that an audit is going to take place, the company can come out clean as a whistle.

Looks like eRODS is simply a website to show the driver what the inspector sees when transferring ELD data by USB or bluetooth.
    ELD - Web eRODS

It's nice and can be used as a last resort to get the file to the LEO I guess. Of course if the ELD has a display they must use that.

Q7. Would an electronic logging device (ELD) be non-compliant with the ELD rule if the data cannot be sent electronically to an authorized safety official at roadside?

    A7
. No. If the electronic means for transferring data is unavailable or fails, the driver can still be compliant by showing either a printout or the actual ELD display of their RODS.

    Coffey Thanks this.

It 'should' be the same as on the display. I've heard of some companies adding to it, but I don't know how truthful that is.

Basically there are several ways to view the data as per the ELD regs.
    Wireless ways: Webservices, e-mail
Local ways: USB, Bluetooth, Display, printout.

This is simply the webservice option listed in the regs that created ELD's

Saw a trucker doing close to 80 miles an hour through Stockton California yesterday. He is an owner op leased onto a carrier. He must have a way of masking his speed from the ELD output file otherwise going that fast just leaves a breadcrumb trail of evidence for the enforcement people.
