I don't think there is a connection between Supply, Demand, and Automation. Automation is technology-driven. If Automation ever gets to the point that robots can haul freight the human element is done. I for one don't see robots hauling freight for a long time yet. Way too many issues to work out first.

It’s not just the weight, the size comes into play. That was a whole lotta torque that beam put on that tractor.

You would probably have to take advantage of all of the things DAC allows you. For example, challange the entry, submit your entry that must be given to anyone receiving your report, etc or you wouldn't get far with a lawsuit. You need to show your were doing to minimize the damage DAC was doing to you. Sorta like you have to put a tarp over your leaking roof even as you sue the roofers that wrecked your roof.

In other words, the short answer is, No, the braking system on the truck has not caused you to have an accident. That brings us back to the question of how many accidents that braking system has prevented in all the trucks that it is installed in. The Bendix Wingman Fusion has certainly improved over the years.

The technology is coming. There will be some luddites among us but that isn't going to stop this technology from rolling out onto the highways. I've watched people complain how dangerous drivers from <insert training company here> are. We've all seen accidents caused by driver error. Every one of us has made a few bad decisions.

Computers and autonomous technology will continue to improve. The programmers will keep adding lines of code. It's been almost 5 years since the first autonomous semi took to the road. How many accidents have we seen with autonomous semis? How many do we see each day with <insert training company here>?

We will never hear of an accident being caused by an autonomous truck, not because they don't cause them but because it'll "turn over control to the driver" .05 seconds before the accident therefore being caused by the driver.

Which is exactly how Tesla has such a good record on their autopilot. Right before a wreck it tends to turn off, so Tesla can claim it wasn't the autopilot but the inattentive driver.

A driver that made a similar unwanted panic stops would fail a driving test and and some drivers are fired now for making panic stops, but the nerds like it so we should say thank you when it causes a wreck. smdh

If one of us was arguing to keep a driver making these mistakes the nerds would call us luddites. Tell them the tech is making the same mistake and you say give it time, it's getting better. That's how we know you worship the tech.
