They got msnbc on in this restaurant. Idiots talking during break in the three ring circus. Can’t believe how they try to appear intelligent. Geesh! Dave’s OM is more intelligent than they are! :biggrin_25523:

You never want to idle a new engine. After the initial start up and idling for oil pressure and then a quick drive to get it upto temp and make sure there's no leaks, you load it down and run it. Then you idle it just long enough to get coolant and oil temps down then shut it off. Do that for the first 100 hours or so and the engine won't burn any oil and will be a strong Runner

One suggestion... first 150k miles. When checking oil. Smell the dipstick. Early warning of something wrong.

I’m afraid to ask, what it might smell like. As long as I don’t have to taste it, I’d like to run blowby tube where I can keep a constant eye on it. Lol. Thanks!!

could just run a hose off the pipe and up through the shift boot. Then into your shoe or sock. That way you will know something is wrong if your socks turn black or you build up hot oil in your shoe..... :D
