I have my first interview ever in the trucking industry tomorrow morning. I was curious what would be some do’s and don’t’s? Things to say or not to say? If you could do your first interview over again what would you do differently?

    austinmike Thanks this.

It's not an interview like you would have for other jobs. They just ask your experience level, make sure you don't have extensive criminal background and excessive traffic related incidents.

    Uhh.

    Just be you.
I’ve only had one in person job interview, and everything the dude said was a lie.

    Everything.

The dude was the Terminal manager of a tanking company and he didn’t know a 407 tank from a 307, let alone a 412 tank.

If its in-person I'd dress up a little. Don't need a suit and tie but definitely wear a nice shirt and pants, be well groomed, etc. Basically look professional. I always like to show up 10 minutes early as well.

I always like to bring a couple copies of my resume along too in case they wish to reference it.

I always make a point of being polite to the person at the front desk. The interviewer may ask them about your mannerisms while you were waiting.

The way they vent is differences between 307-407.
412 Is lined, rubber lined for corrosives and such
