What is the best way to build up "on paper" experiance??? I have some from driving and repairing in the military. And PLEANTY with family buisness with medium sized trucks (22' Flatbed, 26' Rollback, Towtruck, And various equipment trailers). But I cant PROVE this on paper. I need some documented experiance. Where would be the place to start? I could probably start hauling crushed cars right away, but I really dont want to be chaining that type of load down. They move to much when chaining.
I need some help.

I'm assuming by your post and no other background said, you just exited the military. Have you looked at what your local unemployment office or VA rep offers for training? Some of them will pay for your training at a driving school. That's a better way to go then get driver training from one of the bottom feeder driving companies.
The biggest factor you have to consider about getting in the trucking industry right now is, How clean is your MVR? Driving schools will sell you the world even if you have a bad MVR. Just to get the funds to put another student through.

From what I understand, paper experience is only required if you are self-employed or a previous employer goes under. Then they would rely on paystubs and the like.
Provided the places you got your experience are willing to corroborate what is in your resume' or work history it should suffice. A simple phone call satisfies their burden of verifying your work history. -
I've been out of the military for quite some time, and I went to a school, GOOD school (part of the college) 15 weeks of class with pleanty of hands on. Took the CDL test with their truck, but was at the local DMV in my home state. Basically it wasnt like most who go to these licence "mills". I had to earn my licence the correct way. Plus I'm not legal bound with a contract to anyone, I paid for my own training. As for paperwork...... You do need a paperwork trail showing actual work history AS a truck driver (I was working the mechanic side for the last 12 years with no truck driving involved) or the #### licence is USELESS unless you want to go somewhere like werner and be gone for 2 weeks at a time to build up experiance at no pay. As far as my MVR it is spotless.
So back to the question of I need to build up some actual ON PAPER driving experiance. Basically its a "you have to prove it" thing. -
you are out of luck with the " paper experience " all the companies will pull your DAC and your MVR .. if they dont see you drove for someone and you said you did, they will ask you for proof ( tax returns , pay stubbs , etc ) if you cant prove it, they will list it as you lied on your app ( if you applied to them first ) ... if you need actual exp you will have to pay your dues and get out there and go to a bigger company and be out awhile and get little pay until you have your exp that you need... either that or look at a owner operator who is desperate to put someone in his truck ... good luck to you , everyone on here is there for you if you need it ...

Most companies will not accept military experience. Sorry but that's what I found and the only way I could get any experience counted from the service is showing my logs and orders when I was OTR with the NAVY hauling special types of equipment for range clearance. The equipment had to go anywhere in the states and I would rent the tractor and pull a Navy 60T trailer. So I had a CDL and the military license. I know of only one other military driving job that would count for experience and that's the recruiter's trucks that come out of the Navy Yard in DC and travel all over to fairgrounds and such. Mostly all of any hauling OTR is contracted out. I did it because it was a special R&D program but I still had to have approval from the controlling command and the Army Transportation Command.
You can try and like what was said before you can find some backing from the VA and the state to get you going. -
I dont mind proving my skills or earning my experiance, But from what I've read on forums how hard is it going to be to actually get one of those companies to give an honest DAC. Instead of an abandoned truck or damaged truck ect... put on it??? And with the flood of newbies in the market it's even hard to get on those hire anyone places. I'm just having a really hard time GETTING the chance to prove myself as a good driver.

I do have some experiance in "family owned" driving (which doesnt show up on any paperwork I have), but that is hard to prove on paper because it looks like your making it up when the best I can do would be a "He drove this and that from here to there for this many years, Signed DAD" Growing up we had to work it or get out. I'm sure some of you guys had the same thing. Same as growing up on a farm except we hauled cars and scrap metal. I just got tired of the wrench turning side and thought I'd get back into the hauling side.
