A guy I went through orientation with is still doing vans at Mercer. I spoke with him last month and he said for 2019 his rolling mile average was around $1.69RStewart Thanks this.
-
Wow...
Yea, Looks like it is not changing much on the Van rates for the foreseeable future. Trucking use to be fun...sigh. -
2019 I was $1.83/mile loaded to the truck, for the last six months of 2019 I was at $1.94. So far, this year I'm at $2.04.spyder7723 and RStewart Thank this.

You're killing it man. Keep it up.thaistick Thanks this.

Unfortunately, I don't run that many miles but been pleased with my rpm.
Mercer's been good to me, but I'll probably need to make a change this year because I need to be more local/ regional and I've found that to be nearly impossible...RStewart Thanks this. -
Mercer says vans are averaging $1.57/mile all miles.
-
whew, that is a relief...would only have to pay them .27 cents per mile for the privilege of hauling for them.
-
Your costs must be real high. That will be tough to make money anywhere.
Remember, that's the average fleet wide. There are guys doing better and guys doing worse.thaistick Thanks this. -
Yea, we set our costs pretty high just for our own benefit; kinda like "WOW, we made more money than expected" type of thing. Helps cover unexpected costs a little easier when they occur.
Na, I like Mercer. I've seen them around since early 90's and wouldn't have minded running under their numbers and may from time to time check their brokerage. Their recruiters were very honest last year abot the rates to the truck. Kudos to them for sure as they give a pretty good opportunity to help some fledgling O/O's.379_largecar Thanks this.
