Hello,
Been driving for several years and most has been O/O lease on.
Im trying to decide if going with my own authority is worth all the hassle or is giving away 25% still a good deal with my 25%company lease program and leasing their trailer for $190 a week.
Clearing $2000-$2500 a week and home weekends for 34 reset.( prior to $1350/month truck payment).
what’s your experienced feedback. I need more than an opinion. Thanks ahead,

So you do about $9000 per month minus $1350, you are left with $7650? Who pays for repairs? Anything else you pay for (insurance, permits, e.t.c)?

You need to get several insurance quotes and sit down with a calculator to see what the numbers will be.
HopeOverMope and 86scotty Thank this. -
25% should include trailer and all maintenance on said trailer.
Find a better company to lease onto. -
I have never been an o/o so maybe I’m off my rocker, but if you’re truly clearing $2000-$2500 a week after ALL expenses, I don’t know that I would be looking to change anything.

Don't necessarily have to get your own authority. Could just look for a company that pays more then 75%, plenty out there, I leased on to Pure Freightlines for a few months last year after buying my truck, but that was OTR so not home every weekend. They paid 80% of the load and I ran under their numbers and plates, renting one of their trailers. Paid more if you had your own trailer.

Kind of confused here:
"Clearing $2000-$2500 a week and home weekends for 34 reset.( prior to $1350/month truck payment)."
Are you saying your true bring home is 8-10k a month or $6650-8650 a month? Pretty big difference.
How soon til that truck is paid off? -
I was leased on for 78%, their trailer no charge, had to have a workmans comp type insurance cost about 2k a year ( landstar has some similar requirement). Got my own authority last year and honestly it's about a push. I make a little more still doing the about the same runs but freight rates are ####ty right now. I'm figuring on being in a good spot when things pickup
Hayfieldmn Thanks this.
