Wondering what u guys use for the best lube for ratchet binders. I have litteraly tried everything but run into the same problem each time. They either dry out or get gunked up or both.
The best i have found is just basic liquid wrench or any pentrating oil.
I have tried so much different kinds of grease but they all get gunked up, especially running open headache rack.
Had a guy tell me to use the lucas hub oil and that turned out to be worse than the grease, welded my binders shut, had to get a hammer to break them open.
The only problem with penetrating oil is that it dries out after u have them on freight, and doesnt really protect it against road salt or other elements.
My next experiment was gonna be with some motor oil .
What do u guys use or had luck with ?

I used WD40 to get them oiled up, then I sprayed them with silicone spray for work boots. With those 2 combined it repelled the water & road junk really well for about 2 weeks, then I had to do it again. Not a perfect solution but it worked
