Do the big companies get kickbacks or special discounts at certain truck stop chains for fueling there?. I ask this as swift mostly does ta/petro and loves. They occasionally have you fuel at pilot/flying j but not as much as the other 2. Does swift or any big company get anything for filling up at certain brands?.

Yes. Obviously it’s about price.
flood Thanks this. -
Almost no one pays pump price and the price you see on your recite is not what they paid.

I am not a driver yet, but the way I understand it is the megas buy units of fuel ahead of time from the truckstop ,and then pay the truckstop a fee to dispense it.I might be over simplifying it,or I could be totally wrong
-
Best advice is fuel where the company tells you and don’t worry about the price.

Gutter Thanks this.

They do need to purchase "rip-off" fuel at select places to get better dicounts overall. There is a catch to it, but they are big enough to deal with it and come out ahead for both sides. -
I have a friend who is O/O with only one truck and he told me his fuel card at pilot is $0.12 per gallon off listed price. I forget what the shop discount was for repairs but want to say either 10 or 20%

You absolutely are paying for it, just not at the point of sale.
Keep that mentality and your company you drive for will be out of business. Worse yet a post will pop up in the worst trucking company section that you initiate accusing the company of being mis-managed.Valuable Asset and Speed_Drums Thank this.
