I’m not sure I remember correctly:
When given the green light bypass signal on my prepass I can bypass the scale unless in Arizona, Arkansas and Ohio.
Is this correct?
Hazmat with Prepass -When to stop at scale house?

Great topic for debate. I always wondered if they knew those signs were out there.

What does the sign say?
If it mentions a exception for hazmat, then you pull in.truckdriver31 Thanks this. -
Had a driver with my company years ago bypass the Arizona scale at Havasu City on 40 East years ago. Got the green but was placarded. Got a ticket and called to see how much it was. He was told he had to appear in person. Called a lawyer that appeared for him. Was $3500 dollars when it was all said and done.
You definitely want to know the rules before playing.

When in doubt, go in. Better to go in and not need to than not go in and get chased down.

I was told by a weigh station they have a hazmat quota so they pull them all in to make sure they meet it

If hazmat in Arizona, Arkansas or Ohio you pull in regardless, unless scale is straight closed. No matter what your beeper says or the bypass sign says.
Also if you drive the exact to the 0.5 mph posted speed limit over the little scale bars before the guard house there is a 90% more likely chance they'll green light you through the bypass lane. It's a speed testJames j and insipidtoast Thank this. -

Noooooo Ohio is 100% hazmat pull in, unless scale is closed, they even have the extra signs up, 'hazmat loads pull in'
