I was at Markham last week for a PM. They installed an inverter (no APU) that I didn't ask for and definitely didn't pay for. I didn't ask questions. Maybe something new they're doing? Or just screwed up & gave me someone else's inverter!

Actually. ... They don't make U buy them anymore. .. They place themy in the truck for free.. If anyone need one for their truck ... just tell the shop and they will install U one ...that's if they have any on hand ... IT'S FIRST COME... FIRST SERVE BASIS. ..

Go to www.hollandent.com if you like creature features in your truck. No company perfect, but I wish the FMCSA would require ALL otr trucks to have min apu/inverter in them, and required scheduled maintenace, with a maintenence sticker shoeing they been serviced accordingly. So we could put an end to illegal idling and drivers roasting or freezing. To me it becomes a safety issue , and we all know how FMSCA and the DOT feel about safety...lol...better yet any truck sold with a sleeper make the apu standard equipment not optional, then everyone is on the same page for otr cost wise.

I just started with us Xpress just over a week ago, a 1200w inverter is the standard for them now apparently. The 5 min idle is still the norm, and annoying, if they cant get you a load quick enough after your 10 hr break, you lose power, then your food in the fridge. Even sitting in the seat with your foot down on the throttle does nothing. It will still shutdown in 5 mins, the optimized idle I know from years ago driving for PAM was better than this, at least the batteries would stay charged.
