Nice stack job. But i kinda think you should have edge protectors on that, and if it were me id put a half turn in each strap on each side to stop the flutter. Just my .02 not sayin you dont know your job or anything.

It doesn’t matter if my load is 9000 lbs or 40,000 lbs, this stupid truck doesn’t get any better than 5MPG.

Here’s an ugly one I grabbed this morning.

I took these pics with a hurry-up strap job to get out of the building. After I pulled out I gave my straps the twist and edge protection. I usually despise loads like this but it paid decent and it takes me 114 miles away from my next good load.

They don't like to use edge protectors because it may damage the paint so I put them on after I leave.

I used to have that problem all the time. A lot of our stuff was real fancy, 2 or 3 coats of paint, "sophisticated coatings"... I found that just using squares of cardboard worked best (unless the paint was still tacky)
Cardboard seemed to be most forgiving to the paint, was easy to get (I enjoy dumpster diving) and you don't have to worry about losing some of it when you unstrap...

I use 2 1/2 inch pieces of cotton jacketed fire hose for my edge protection. I have 18 pieces that are 2 foot long and 18 pieces that are 1 foot long. It works great. And for the big stuff I have 12 pieces of rubber 5 inch hose.

It's funny that you mentioned cardboard because I asked them if they had any recycling bins I could get some cardboard out of. I went to their cardboard dumpster and it was completely empty. It had just been picked up. I looked at this empty dumpster and yelled "dhamnit". I did have any other options but to forgo the edge protectors and just use straps. Using just straps was not my first choice. My dad used cardboard as an Owner Operator when I was a kid and it always stuck with me. My local family owned appliance store gives me all of the refrigerator and washer/dryer boxes that I want. I didn't even think about putting any on the truck for my next outing because I normally carry some.

I always have a healthy supply of cardboard for all the weird stuff. The good thick cardboard is even rather effective at protecting from chains, this I use coil mats for that usually.
