Google maps and that Road Atlas is a great combination. Just remember, no GPS device/app is perfect. Use your eyes and common sense, 1st, device 2nd.

And like I told 2 guys I work with that rely solely on GPS, its just one tool in your navigation toolbox.

    I have a Dezl 780 - but it’s a dashboard ornament.

Rely on the paper. Trust me.

One that works as long as you don't follow it mindlessly.

Why do you say that? I have an old dezl 580 lmts. Her name is Didi. She neurotic and going senile but she's still helpful. My company Copilot usually agrees with her, if not I have to pick one, but I like having options.
Didi can plan for lower miles or faster drive time, and she's pretty accurate on arrival time. So I was thinking of getting the 785 before she goes totally offline...
Plus I really appreciate her lane advice at major interchanges....

Shoot my Rand McNally’s now looks at the speed I came into the tunnel and approximates where I’m at lol. Still it’s routing is pretty #### I mainly use it just to calculate distance quicker.
