Yeah, When I had my truck, I always tried to but parts, tires etc that would help keep Americans working.
Taking the plunge. My journey as an O/O.

Well, I stepped onto a scale yesterday, put in my quarter and got bad news and lucky numbers.
I knew I had been eating far worse than normal recently without being able to sit down for non-fast-food meals, but hitting 300 lbs for the first time was an eye opener.
So, starting yesterday, I have started a low carb diet. Lots of cheese, jerkey, pork rinds, beef sticks. Protein and fats mostly, but I will also be grabbing salads and freeze dried green beans. Since I like my teeth in my head, there will be apples and occasionally other fruits as well.
My goal is 200 lbs by the end of the year.Rideandrepair, F4T6UY, Opendeckin and 1 other person Thank this. -
But you need to get some exercise in too. Briskly walking for 30 minutes 2 to 3 times a week will do wonders for you cardio-vascular system and will help your weight loss. Good luck and hang with it.Rideandrepair, dwells40 and Farmerbob1 Thank this. -

While my food intake dropped when I stopped playing sports, I never dropped it enough.
For 20 years I gained a couple lbs per year. Then I stopped smoking and gained about 40 lbs in two years. Five years after that I started driving a truck and was adding a couple lbs per year again.
Then this Covid19 crap destroyed my ability to get good food regularly. Corn dogs, Doritos, fast food, and ice cream put 30+ lbs on me in only a few months.
I am hoping this is a turning point for me in diet control. I smoked 22 years before I quit, and have never cheated with even one smoke since I quit for the last time.
My mental state with weight control now feels a lot like my conviction to stay smoke free.
Not sure if that might sound weird, being able to judge the firmness of my own convictions, but I feel good about getting below 200 lbs and keeping myself there.Rideandrepair, dunchues, JonJon78 and 3 others Thank this. -

Oh, update on fuel economy.
The truck is telling me I am averaging 6.0 MPG.
I am pretty certain that this is because the tires I purchased are a larger diameter than my old tires.
I can tell this because my GPS is pretty accurate about road speed, and when the truck is saying I am going 67, the GPS is flipping back and forth between 68 and 69.
Guess I will need to have the tire diameter corrected in the truck computer to get an accurate reading on mileage.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
What’s the manual fuel mileage number..?
Rideandrepair and Farmerbob1 Thank this.
