Seems like you're off to a very "optimistic" start, not trying to be rude just a little sarcasim, lol. You sound like the type that would back into a pole and then get pissed because someone put that pole there. You should do fine......

lol just trying a add a little humor but honestly i dont care what they give if it's a pit I'll clean it and be happy to have a truck and a job besides if i get a new one right off the bat anything less after that would be a total piece of crap the no self respecting trucker would drive LOL

When I first started here I got an old but decent 9400, done my job safely and on time, 4mos later I got a new09 prostar with 27mls on it, still had the plastic on the seats, 9mos after that I started training and got another new prostar, done that for 5mos turned that truck in and got a 2010 freightliner with 14mls on it. There is ppl that's been here longer than me and never even smelled the inside of the new trucks and I've had 3 so, if getting a good truck is being in the right place at the the right time....position yourself wisely

The new Petes are stripped down 386's and 387's. The 386's look #### good and have leather seats. I was told they would not be purchasing any more Prostars due to the amount of problems with them, that's why they are trying out the Petes and Shakers, and still buying the KW's. All trucks excluding most 9400's and trainer trucks are ultrashifts. Good luck.
poorrednek Thanks this. -
They have more brand new prostars as well. They have the side skirts on them and the maxxforce engines instead of the isx cummins.

Seems like the Kenny's go to million milers. I've heard students get the Prostars so that if they dent one, SUPRISE, you're in the leasing program. :lol
I had a 9400 it was great. I heard it's already been reassigned.
Part of the Pro-star's problems was the way some of the techs were screwing with the ECU programing. And USA was shocked, SHOCKED, that letting someone mod the engine computer voids the factory warrenty. So now they're in a pissing match with International over that. I think International told USA to pound sand, which is why they've got a trial order of Petes and shakers.
Last I saw they had a year's supply of un-driven Prostars in Ft. Worth anyway. And a ton of busted down 94k's in Dayton.
BTW: You'll definately find a trainer in Columbus. They have a Terminal in Dayton. -
Why were they playing with the ECU's?

Fuel economy. With fuel being a company's largest expense anything they can do to save a little helps a lot. Thanks for the clarification on the Prostars DBL TIME, seems I do recall them wanting to try out the new Maxxforce.

Installing the governer software so the trucks are limited to 62 mph. Also I think they might have doctored the idle time software.
Some days I can't even do a PTI without it shutting off. -
Anybody know if USA is going back to the manual trans? I've heard 10 different things from 10 different people, most saying there were too many problems with the Automatics so USA was going back to manuals...
Testing for my own truck this week. It's gonna make me really upset when they throw my into an auto. Some days I shift better than my trainer and in my opinion, if you aint shiftin, you aint truckin.
