And I do hope that this rebound we are experiencing isn't just unique to our company. I hope this reflects the overall economy so anyone else still laid off will get back in the saddle again.

I would have thought the same about FedEx Ground, but it turns out it’s just easy money.

I'm a newer poster here on the boards and I've been following for a while. I am a currently furloughed LTL driver and just want to see if there is hope? I've heard of a few companies starting to call back dock and some drivers, but maybe I'm in my own head and a bit more pessimistic. I haven't worked since beginning of May and just want some feedback, especially if any of you are on the west coast. Do I just remain patient? Thanks all.

@Clarimeister where at in the west coast you at? The old dominion terminal in rialto,ca has recently been calling folks back to work, if im not mistaken is a mix of dock workers and drivers.

Thanks for the reply. That's precisely why I posted. I am in the same general area, but not Rialto. I heard on another forum they were calling workers back over there, which is the biggest terminal on the west, at least in the area. I'm sure the protests in the socal area didn't help with other terminals. But, maybe I just need to be a little more patient?

I was a very late furlough. Given "non-schedule" in early May and officially on furlough a couple weeks later. So 90 days past that which would be August sometime. Also heard of a new terminal in Irwindale. Perhaps that'll help my chances of return. I know it's early for me to be worrying, but like many others, not working definitely is concerning with no certain future.

@Clarimeister while you on furlough depending on your economic situation apply for unemployment that way you can get funds to cover your expenses.

Does the irwindale terminal have a set date to open?

    Clarimeister Thanks this.

Thanks. I'm not sure, but I hear August 1st for Irwindale. Maybe by July sometime I should hear something?

@Clarimeister no worries I doubt you will be furlough the whole 90 days. As states are starting to open up the demand in freight will increase.

Meanwhile just enjoy your time off with family and friends.

    Clarimeister Thanks this.
