Good stuff that come with age:
    1) You get to be called an "old fart!"
    2) You hurt all over when you get up in the morning, but the hot shower helps you to "loosen up."
    3) You find that after you "loosen up" you can do about twice the amount of work that "kids now days" do!:biggrin_2559: (And even if you can't, you still tell everybody you can!:biggrin_25522:
    4) You may, (or may not) get a "senior discount." Now this is one that I've just never figured out. Why the hell should I get a discount just because I've outlived my usefulness?????:biggrin_2552:
    5) Life, health, and possibly auto insurance rates may go back up from what they were when you were in "the prime of life."
    6) You get to join AARP.
    7) You get to tell everybody how to do everything, because you have "been there and done that." Of course, if they have ANY common sense, the will listen politely, then go ahead and do what they had started, ignoring your advice, because after all, you are just a senile old fart!:biggrin_2559:

Shoot, I forgot the most important one of all. Anytime you screw anything up, (which with me, seems to be anytime I try to do anything, but that's for another post...) you can blame it on having a "senior moment!"

You may not PLAN to right now. But you will, at some point or another, find yourself in a situation where it will be much to your advantage to do so. Possibly the only way you can get loaded, or unloaded...

Trust me on this, after all, I'm an "old fart" who has "been there and done that." LOL!:biggrin_25525:

We have to do a sight side and blind side parallel park for md, We started to try to do that the second day... I think the instructor just wanted to get a laugh.... He also said he rarely has to do it but he has had times where he didnt have a choice but to.

    The Trannys of my life..........

I have driven 2 different Fuller Road Ranger 13 speeds.

    1. RT 6-13 this was in a 1979 LTL 8000 Ford 10 wheel straight truck 636 cubic inch 210HP V-8 3208 Caterpillar naturally aspirated. (no turbo or blower) AFAIK this was a non overdrive tranny. The first gear was for off road.

This tranny you ran the first 3 gears of the 5 speed pattern, flipped the splitter and ran the 5 speed pattern, flipped the splitter and ran the 5 speed pattern again.

    2. RTO 6-13 Fuller Road Ranger this was behind a 8V-71 Detroit diesel 318HP this was a 1972 GMC Astro cabover.

    3. Spicer SST-6 this was in a 1981 LTL 9000 Ford 10 wheel straight truck. 230HP 888 cubic inch Cummins

This had a weird pattern you did a 5 speed pattern until you went to 5th. 5th was to the right of fourth! Then straight back for 6th.

There was a "T" handle on the side of the shifter to switch from low to high range. It had 6 in off road and 6 on the highway.

    4. The Mack 5 speed. 1982 Mack 6x6 all wheel drive redi mix concrete truck.

    5. Mack 7 speed. 5 speed you split 4th and 5th to get your extra gears.

    6. Mack 10 speed. Split 'em all if you feel like it!

BTW both the Macks you could change gears in reverse!

    Both in a 1981 Mack R686ST 315HP

    7. 10 speed Road Ranger in a 1972 Osh Kosh 6x6 concrete block truck.
5 speed pattern, but! 4th was where 5 normaly is. Pull the "T" handle and run the pattern again. I was told it was a 10speed overdrive.

It also had a 3 speed box with another sifter handle behind it with 3 selections low. direct, and overdrive.

We called it a 10 speed double overdrive. This was a 1673 250HP Cat.

    8. We had a "5 and a 4" "Twin Stick" 1968 Ford 10 wheel straight truck. I never drove that on the road! If you knew how to drive that right? You seldom needed brakes:biggrin_2559:

My first year driving I was stuck in an old 1984 Pete that had a horseshoe shift pattern. Took some getting used too and I haven't seen one since but it was weird. Instead of going over and up you were going straight over, it's hard to describe, lol.
