    I use it too.

Most JX peterbilt dealers carry it. Autozone as well.

Oooh I like that. I roll up mine like you do but leave just enough that I tuck it under either the strap or the ratchet and as I tighten it, it holds itself in place.

I had it taught to me years ago, it’s a good precaution against it getting stepped on by a tire.

I still cable tie them for piece of mind, if a strap gets loose, it’ll let the bundle of strap go - even though it’ll just dangle and look stupid.

Most of the 2 inch ratchets look like this.
Take the nut and bolt holding the lead loop out, swap the lead loop around so the hook faces the opposite way, put bolt and nut back in place, make sure and get it tight.

Been using that same method for years. Works great. Funny the looks it gets from other drivers when they see it. Most times just use a bungee to hold in place.

i use this method to secure all my 2” straps. If the ratchet doesn’t have an opening in the strap I pass it on to one of our other drivers. 492C717F-CB68-4CFB-A6B2-91BC6319B790.jpeg
Open the ratchet all the way, feed the strap in from the back side, snug the strap up, fold the excess up and tuck into ratchet, finish tightening ratchet. To undo just open the ratchet all the way, and pull on the excess strap to unroll the spool.

Heck I just fold up the excess like I would a 4 inch strap, and zip tie it to the top of the ratchet. My zip ties are strong enough to hold the fold together, but easy enough to break by pulling on them.

Same here. I've never had a zip tie break holding the excess. Keeps it nice & neat.
