I still haven't checked the net weight vs the net weight of the five dollar bag of Tostitos. I just see the "$2.29 only!" on the bag and say "Yep, that's for me!!"WesternPlains, lovesthedrive, LoSt_AgAiN and 2 others Thank this. -
The coin shortage is very suspect of a conspiracy to eliminate cash altogether. Supposedly it’s being decontaminated. Sounds rediculous, How long can any virus live on a coin, anyway? Bacteria grows, Virus dies. I’m reminded of an O/O, 30 yrs ago. He loved saying if you don’t watch your pennies, you won’t have any dollars. He claimed to have 3, 55 gallon drums full of pennies, in his basement. Claimed the copper would soon far outweigh the pennies value. A recent news story, about a Bank paying $105, for $100 worth of change, got my attention. Instant 5% return, made me wish I had a bunch of change saved. A few 55 gal drums, would be nice. I’m definitely gettin a tin foil hat. Might have to make my own, I’m sure they’re sold out.

Kids are locked down so not buying candy and pop.
If the bank lobby is closed down the Coinstar machines are not available. Which means those at the grocery stores are probably full and out of order.
On a side note: was chatting with a customer the other day. He is buying non collector silver quarters from local pawn and coin shops for their silver value. He figures if the economy takes a dump it would be the most trusted precious metal for transactions. Most people would not know what to do with a $1k gold coin. Value is too high except for property/vehicle sized transactions and too much opportunity to be scammed if you do not "know" the coin. At $4 per coin he figures he could restock perishables using about a roll (40 coins) per month.WesternPlains, LoSt_AgAiN, Dale thompson and 3 others Thank this. -
One more observation, if you fellas will tolerate it. House prices are really getting expensive. They claim it’s because of a shortage of sellers, right now, due to the virus, on top of a continuing overall shortage of housing in general, fueled also by low rates, along with the Stock market. Supposedly the Fed has some room for loosening, if needed. But at some point, people just can’t afford these prices. Maybe not a full blown crash, like before. But a correction in housing, seems inevitable. Looks very similar to what happened in 08. Somethings quietly brewing, under the surface, of all these trends.

I drive by places and think "That would work", places that you could wrench in a covered space with enough room outside for several rigs. Paved or concrete. Fenced or walled.
I can create a living space with some studs and drywall.WesternPlains, Cattleman84, Rideandrepair and 4 others Thank this.
