As I said in the post, the Engine brake was not on, it was relying on basic engine drag.
Currently within a couple of seconds of taking my foot off the pedal it goes into ecoast...
Under icy conditions, I am not relying on systems to do the driving for me since it will be me trying to get it back under control....
To say that any transmission that will just shift into Neutral anytime it wants is unsafe is an understatement in my opinion.
For those of you who still have the Performance mode does that allow your tranny to work as an auto without shifting into neutral?
Thanks
Did freightliner intentionally set out to make a crappy automatic transmission?

I will admit that I find it strange that more people are not classing a transmission that kicks out of gear and into neutral as a massive safety issue....
Not even ten years back I remember a safety guy at a company I worked for talking about a driver who was fired for using "Extended Overdrive", and that was an infraction that was an immediate firing....
Now freightliner builds this little gem into its programming.... -

Has there ever been anything but a crappy automatic transmission?
