I’ll run a flat or step OTR with this. Looking for some guys familiar with the engine that can weigh in on the pros/cons of this setup.
TIA
Looking for firsthand experiences with Cat 3406 engine

Looks to be a 3406C, low pro 24.5’s so she’ll be 1600@70mph which I think is about the sweet spot. Should be a decent right if you know how to turn your own wrenches.
rccarlson22 Thanks this. -
When was last OH?
How many miles since?
It’s probably got around 3 million on chassis.
I think it’s overpriced, I’d say 5-7000$rccarlson22 Thanks this. -
I used to drive a KW with a 3406E... That thing was a powerhouse, it would pass anything on the highway... Except a fuel stop. And would climb like a cat being chased up a tree by a dog. But it had an 18 speed and I cant recall what rears it had... But I know it would do 100 mph and then some.

The lack of mileage or OH info is annoying but it’s too #### clean to pass up. I’m going to call today and get this info -
The E is the more modern engine, correct? -
Looks clean for the year. Too bad it doesn't have a 13 speed and a bit longer wheel base.
okiedokie Thanks this. -
I live about 5 miles from this place. Looked at a couple trucks they had once that looked good but were overpriced fro the time. They were all original paint, frame, body etc.
What concerns me about the clean on this is that just looks like they painted the frame and motor but doesn’t mean it is in good shape. Even the shocks are painted.
If you want me to stop by and look at it as far as condition goes send me a message (Disclaimer: not responsible for your decisions... lol)
I have a 3406e with a 13 speed. It will boogie... Cat parts are more expensive...D.Tibbitt, okiedokie and rccarlson22 Thank this. -
A 10 speed and 3.90 rears? That thing will be screaming at 70mph! Looks like lots of fresh paint on the frame and armour all! I would look her over really good.
okiedokie and rccarlson22 Thank this.
