To answer the earlier question about Four Oaks loading quick, so far the answer is NO. 9 am appt, put me in a dock at 845, it's now 1015, and they haven't even locked the dock lock yet.

Update - 3 hrs and they haven't put the 1st box on my trailer. FCC drivers should count their blessings that they drop/hook here


Update 2 - took them until 13:30 to get me loaded...and nobody told me how things worked when I checked in at the guard shack. They tell you what door, the light eventually goes red, you get loaded, the light goes green. You pull up, get your seal out of the back. Secure the load, shut the doors, and seal it. Then head to the guard shack. You don't go inside, or see anyone but the security people, who have your b/l waiting for you.

 

I started out with those truck stop points Cb radios and one of the best ones I had was a Uinden bearcat 980 with SSB. until a older employer I worked for decided to damage it .

 

You should carry a truckers potty for the wife

 

and make sure the stereo is turned up to drown out the grunting and groaning.
