No.
We get breakdown pay.
The pay is the same per day, but it is a different category for the bean counters.
And there is yet another for shutting down due to the weather.
how much is your layover pay?

A good DM will get you the pay without your asking, otherwise you have to request it.
(Should that have been you're asking'? Someone set me straight so I can keep it right and correct.)
(I love a good grammar and spelling cop, just so I can learn something new.)
(Have I just opened a can of worms?) -
As this thread is 2 years old, what is typical current Breakdown pay, per day? And weather pay?
-
Our layover pay is the motel cost and $45 for meals.
If we are stranded on the highway it's hourly up to 14 w OT after 10 and if we break down out of town its motel, meal money and 8 hours at $33.30.
Usually we are towed back home but a couple yrs ago I spun a bearing on a Friday and waited till Tuesday for a lift home while they replaced motor under warranty. -
I think you're correct with 'your.' Otherwise it would read as ...'without you are asking'... that definitely doesn't sound right.Moosetek13 Thanks this.

So your breakdown pay would max out at 8 hours per day?
-
If you're broke down it could be up to 16 hours if you are on duty. My company will only pay on duty time.
If you are in the hotel you are capped at 8 but if it's like say a storm delay you may get a full 14 hours since you'd be on duty not knowing when you may be moving. We try not to abuse it since like most it is not a set rate if they offer any at all.kratogen Thanks this. -
$210 per day. Hotel and meals paid. Last layover was truck broke down 5 years ago.
