Lifetime DFW resident here. It’s now Southern California. You can get a nice little turn-key home for about $250k or rent for $1500-2000 a month. If you just threw a dart at the map, I’d pull it out and look at Oklahoma City. They have a state income tax but you can get a nice little home for $150k there and aside from the Arctic blast they’re currently getting, the winters are still very mild and pleasant. Hope you make it down south, would love a bunch of Michiganders because the So Cal crowd thinks 750k for home is a steal of a deal.

Hobby Lobby has a terminal in Hutchins TX. south of Dallas. I've worked for them 4 1/2 years now and are one of the best private fleets to work for in my opinion. If you've gotten your cdl now and have a years experience they will hire you. They are mainly a team operation. If you don't have a partner they will find you one. We deliver to HobbyLobby stores nationwide and all routes are dedicated. All routes I've been on are 4 to 5 day runs with 3 or 2 days off. I recently lost my co due to illness and am looking for a replacement. My route is 4 1/2 days out-2 1/2 days off, Ruston LA. and Springfield Or. 5400 miles per week avg. Anyone not interested in those areas they have almost 1000 stores now. Crazy good benefits/ equipment/pay.

    Current tanker yanker here......

You can go tanker from the get-go--and avoid the major DFW urban sprawl...if you go with Western Dairy Transport:

    DRIVER ACADEMY | wdtmilk.com

    CAREERS & APPRENTICE PROGRAM | wdtmilk.com

I gather they will pay you a salary while you get your CDL with them, as well as provide room and board. :D:eek:

You might check it out!!!

Sounds to me like a fantastic opportunity for anyone in the midwest area.

NOTE: I'm not affiliated with them in ANY way--merely passing along info.

Wonder what the OP decided. Last post he said he lives in Florida.
He hasn't been on here since July 2021.
