I dropped my last settlement 100% into a secondary (elective) maintenance account. The last settlement was a good one @ 3500, so it bounced me up closer to paying off the truck. Trying to avoid bank crap and wiring money, etc. Just use my Crete accounts to pay it off.

    dwells40 and Rideandrepair Thank this.

Is that $3500 before or after the fuel? How many miles did you have to run to get that?

    Rideandrepair and Farmerbob1 Thank this.

Less. Too many repair expenses, and no friendly low cost shop to do them. I also have no safe and legal place to do anything significant myself.

The balancing factor is that I now have proven experience that I can make ends meet with an old truck and major repairs. I also have a payment history on the truck. Those things should allow me to finance a new truck with good rates, considering my credit score has been over 800 for over ten years now.

Doing o/o at Crete with a used truck is not a career path. It's a starting point.

That was a net 3500 settlement. I had @ 5000 miles for 10 days driving (and a 34) on it because there was a 2500 mile load that delivered the day after settlement ended for the prior week.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Thank you for putting yourself out here, warts and all. This game we play is not all peaches and cream, and you have to stack odds in your favor. This thread is a great example of what can go wrong will go wrong, and you better be prepared for it and have some answers and resources.

Dude that’s rough... that would have been $8750 minus fuel at my company. No other deductions.

Say you burnt $2500 in fuel worst case that is still $6250 settlement.

No matter where you go, you gotta get away from Crete. ASAFP.

Edit: As hard as you run, you should be making great money.
