Today I did a bit of an oopsie...maybe?

Here’s what happened. I had parked in a dirt lot that was particularly muddy. Getting out of the mud wasn’t an issue, I just turned on interlock from a stopped position and got out of it pretty easy...and also as easily forgot to turn off interlock. Drove for about 180 miles on highway road, dry and in otherwise good condition at 65 MPH. I was loaded at about 60000 gross and didn’t make any real sharp turns until I got off the highway to the shipper which was three turns all together.

I haven’t noticed anything unusual after the event and didn’t really feel anything different during it. Which leads me to my second question; on a 2019 automatic Cascadia, does the interlock automatically disengage at a certain speed?

All in all is this something to seriously worry about, or just something to be more mindful of in the future.

Most new trucks CAN be programmed to disengage the locker above a preset speed. Whether yours is or not I can't say.

The interaxle differential is just a differential between the 2 axles. Its there to account for speed variations between the 2 axles. If all 8 drive tires have relatively equal tread you probably put minimal stress on the parts and tires by having it locked in. Sharp turns shouldn't put much stress on anything either since the overall speed of both axles would be very close.

TLDR; Be more mindful next time but don't let this bother you. You probably didn't cause anything major.

It’s not an issue at all. You could’ve run it a 1000 miles. Just never engage it or disengage if a tire is slipping.

I’ve done the same, more than once. Never caused a problem.
