Wow.
I’m glad you asked .
That’s about three times what that truck is really worth.
and here’s what can happen if you buy the wrong used emission truck.
Purchased a used 2020 Cascadia, now I might have to go Bankrupt!
Unless they are looking at leasing onto a company that requires a certain year model truck, I’d look at a pre emission truck to avoid those potential problems.
otherwise use that $75k to send em to college so they can make good money sitting in front of a computer instead of driving .Last edited: Apr 8, 2021

But Dang that thing is Fugly, and on top of that powdernewborn blue. Might as well be Pink.slow.rider Thanks this. -
I wouldn’t waste my money. I don’t know your kids but most kids who are given something so they can have it easier, just end up pissing it away. It’s just the way it is. Human nature.
If your dead set on it then Dave’s offer is actually really good IMO. 25k is a fair price and he’s actually taken care of it. So, waste 25k vs 75k. If they can’t make it with that truck then they also can’t make it with the other one.black_dog106, bzinger, tommymonza and 1 other person Thank this. -
LOL @Dave_in_AZdrivinhome and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
OP, at 61 years of age you should keep saving for retirement. Let the kids figure things out on their own. Life can get complicated in the drop of a dime.

I paid for my nephew to go to college for a year, he hated it , then I paid for him to go to school and become a certified welder and hvac class and CDL class.
As long as he was learning and working I didn’t mind paying.
We will try to help a little with a down payment for a house or something but , he’s doing well, he got hired out of CDL class at the local
Community college at 20 do heavy haul oversize loads and he’s working hard, making good money and saving most of it.
He’s still living with us but he’s only home two or three weekends a month, so it would be pointless to spend money for his own place.
I’d help kids get started cause I know how hard it is to get started out in life with zero help from your parents .86scotty, tommymonza and Midwest Trucker Thank this. -
I had no help starting but what I did have was what I feel is a solid up bringing. I didn’t go to college but I was around successful people my whole life.
If you got “the want to” then that goes further then anything. I was speaking mostly of people who don’t have the want to but someone else has the want to for them. It just doesn’t work out.
Again, much respect and shout out to the young gentleman for making something of it.Last edited: Apr 10, 2021
