Don't ask don't tell. Stay away from border crossings and military bases

Sure, it's old news. That doesn't mean everyone knows it.

Better to be a live felon than a dead trucker.

Generally, when doing OTR, I imagine that there is always going to be a jurisdiction where possession (the firearm disassembled or not, loaded or not) will be in a grey area.
Generally, safety wise, it is not that bad out there. As a rule of thumb, if you look for trouble, you'll find one. The only time that a firearm within a reach is reassuring confidence is when you happen to spend time in bad areas. especially at night, while asleep. Best to avoid such areas. I never go directly to the places of delivery or pick up to spend a night there, unless I am familiar well with such places, for instance Costcos have secured staging areas.
A women in a truck is always more vulnerable. As one girl once said, there are too many gigolos always wanting something. If my wife or daughter was an OTR truck driver, I would not mind them to hide a smaller, inconspicuous piece and absolutely keep quite about it....
I've been always under impression that gun enthusiasts will always have more inclination to use them. I own guns on the account that so many wackos own them too and I want my chances to defend leveled. BUT I best like them in the safe at home, clean and ready for a Zombie invasion.

Like the Arkansas state trooper told me. Call the head of each state dot or state police and ask for a email with their consent to carry. As well as the law.
Print both copies and keep them handy if you get pulled over. But then he suggested not to get pulled over in ak.
So Yup no show amd tell or no ask and tell. Cause I'm not letting anyone know anything they don't need too.
P.s. I don't carry. But I'm six months of savings to get my rights back. They attempted to rob in st.Louis and in west Memphis. The second one convinced me these kids don't play fair any more. So it is what it is.

I'm more worried about wildlife than I am about other people. I've never once felt I needed a loaded .45 to feel safe.
