Every "fuel" card I was issued was issued to ME, not my truck. I have covered this before with regard to loaded wallets. I kept ONLY the items I used every day in my wallet. EVERYTHING else stayed in my briefcase. When I left my truck except for brief trips to do business outside my briefcase was IN MY HANDs. Over the years I lost count of the times I have seen someone with a wallet 2 inches thick leave it on the counter and walk off.
Is there a way to get fuel if you lose or forget your fuel card?

The clerk hands me the card back.
it’s a really bad habit to lay it on the counter , and almost as bad to put it back in your pocket because then you will walk off and forget the card.Shanebklyn, gentleroger, Speed_Drums and 1 other person Thank this. -
To this very day, my wallet STAYS in my back left pocket. When I change pants I move all the items in my pockets and change my belt. When I am at a POS my wallet stays in my hand until the clerk gives the card OR change back. THEN and ONLY then does my wallet go back into my pocket. Some people use small wallets and put lots of items in them. I always used a rather large wallet surface area-wise AND keep things OUT of it I don't need.
Today since my retirement I am inside a lot because I am also disabled. I normally wear athletic pants and keep my jeans on a nail. The wallet is in the jeans and stays there. My hand or my back pocket IS THE ONLY TWO PLACES MY WALLET EVER WILL BE! -
I use Mudflap or cash.

I have my fuel card saved in the Pilot app now, so it isn’t an issue. But before I did that, they once let me key it in manually at the fuel desk, using a picture of the card that was sent to me by a coworker.

EFS was driver and truck specific and needed odometer miles until late last year when they stopped requiring that of us.
Needed the truck changed, and mileage waived. EFS check would work, one of the other drivers had to do that when he didn't get the new card in his possession. -
My last carrier used EFS. My card was issued to me. Yes, I could only use it to buy fuel for my assigned truck, but this could be changed by a couple of keystrokes in operations. The primary reason I kept mine close to me was the card could also be used to get money out of an ATM etc.
