So I’m talking to a local yokel company about hiring on. It’s a flat bed outfit but they are wary about hiring a guy who has little to no flatbed experience.
Is there some kind of training I could pay for that would make getting on with a small flatbed fleet easier????
If not I’ll hunt for a tanker outfit

They not willing to have you ride along with one of their drivers for a week or two?

His company wants 600$/mo to insure me.
edit for details: 17 we used my truck to lug around tools on the farm. My buddy set an open tray of sockets inside the tailgate and shut the tailgate, but not well enough.
So I pull out on the highway and sling sockets and half a tool box into on coming traffic (just one car) also a warning for an unsecured load. -
You’re going to be a company driver and the company i ways you to pay for the insurance on the company truck you’re going to drive ?

A local readymix plant offered me 16$/hr till the insurance approval came through pierce didn’t say how much but said it was high and tried to get me to work for 12$/hr instead. I said no thanks. -
Is this a contractor thing or full company ride. Your location would help.
