I have spent the last hours reading these but not much mention outta Lakeland, FL. First does anoyknow if they are looking for drivers out of that terminal? Second do they still do the crazy fuel thing or just suggested now? How do they feel about idle times if you are sitting for long periods due to their poor load planning? How are the miles out there these days, its been alittle over a year since being outta state, but since my current local comapny took away all vacation, raised benefits $125 more a month for less coverage, and killed all but 4 holidays with pay, and no more than 40 hours a week, I am looking at more options. Considering Knight and maybe Davis in Starke, they both are close and have nice trucks. Any current info would be great, thanks in advance..![]()

The rummer is that they are looking at closing lakeland. But no official word on that yet. It is a dirt hole. No shop, shower or drive lounge. Knight dose the fuel planning which you must follow. No holiday pay and they slip sit.

In addition to what Kabar wote, now Knight wants drivers to match your Qualcomm GPS data to your paper logs 3 times a day, almost guaranteing that you will make less money. Next step paperless logs, IMHO. if I had to start again. I would keep looking. I have to think that there are better jobs out there than Knight. (God, I sure hope so!)

Almost forgot! Getting layover, breakdown or detention pay is like trying to talk your way out of speeding ticket, it aint easy!

Thank you all for the info, kinda sucks cause I do love the trucks, but if I wanted all that fine stuff, I would probably go back to USF Glen Moore (YRC), actually they weren't that bad.

Well now theyhave taken away all holiday pay, and tomorrow they are doing open interviews from 8am-10-pm for probably my job as they are firing people to hire someone else at a lower wage. UGGG I need a better preferably a local job.

it's not any better at knight, the grass is not always greener. Our bene's suck, no paid holidays, OTR drivers for the most part are not getting many miles. You might just want to stick it out.

In addition to what was said above, they are dishonest and will gladly without hesetation, lie through their teeth to cover one junk load. The driver quits and the cycle continues. I know this is an old post but if your getting 40 hours a week that's twice as much as you will work with Knight and on top of that you'll never be home. Stuck out on the road with no freight in a POS junk truck that won't idle is no way to live your life. Trucking can be good but Knight can and will F up anything and everything they lay their filthy thieving hands on. They will without a doubt be the worst expieriance of your life but on the flip there is no better feeling of ridding your life of all things Knight. Best day of my life was the day I quit that cesspool of a so called trucking company.
