As far as exit 17 on I-10 (Quartzsite), besides Love's, there is no other truck stop at that exit as far as I'm aware. There used to be Ted's Bull Pen on the north side and the building is still there, but it's been shuttered for many years. Are you thinking of the Mobil? No diesel pumps there as far as I know.

There is a Peelot at that exit.
-
Neither one those are worth stopping at(for fuel or c-store).
-
TA in Baldwin Fl has cheap fuel (with the right fleet card) but their fuel island is ringed with moon craters that threaten to swallow the whole wheel that goes near them.

Flying J s in Emporia, Oklahoma City, Texarkana, Dallas, West Memphis , Temple, GA and all of the Broadway Flying Js are the worst ones.
The Pilot in Rising Fawn, GA I 59 exit 4 needs to fix their truck entrance/exit real bad. It makes Kentucky, Indiana, and Michigan roads feel like silk. Its an old Williams Truckstop. The entrance/exit is all buckled concrete that needs to be dug up and replaced. I broke a headlight element coming in their parking lot at a slow speed.
The old Pilot in LaGrange, Ga was a dump too. Thank goodness its gone,LilRedRidingHood and bthomann Thank this. -
I’ve been driving for 20 years and know each one of those locations very well. You’re right they are all dumps. I see the similarity in the locations too. Was Broadway an old truck stop chain that Flying J bought? Never heard of them and I thought I’d heard of most of the former chains that had been bought out.
I caught the tail end of the old Williams Travel Center era before Pilot bought them out, removed the Perkins restaurants and put Subways in.Last edited: Jul 6, 2021
bthomann and bigkev1115 Thank this. -
Wasn't that a Burns Brothers at one time? I remember it had a small motel ran by the
truck stop on the same property. -
Here are most of the ones I know, even though I'm only in my 30's. Thanks to my uncle
and father for all the information: Bingo, Boron/Sohio, Burns Brothers, Husky, King's,
Pure, Rip Griffin, Skelly, Speedway (before Pilot bought their truck stop division), Travel Port,
Union 76, Wilco-Hess, and Williams.
Before Williams had Perkins, they had a restaurant chain called Main Street Market.kemosabi49 and Dna Mach Thank this. -
You have a good memory! I stand corrected, Main Street Market was Williams’s travel centers restaurant. That was some really good home style cooking.bthomann Thanks this.
