Yep it sure does bring back memories.
Now if we go near a ride my daughter says to me... Hey Dad would you like to go on the roller coaster... we can go to the kids section if you want... it will be less intensive for you.
My response NO!![]()

Funny how kids can remind us things like that . Or like my daughter at the worse possible time to make it more interesting for her….lol

Hopefully the Council Bluffs yard had the life boats ready. Looks like the rain was pretty intense yesterday
Silverdriver and MidWest_MacDaddy Thank this. -
Man, Crete was more of a joke than usual today. Load wasn't ready, they claimed they had no empties. After 20 minutes sitting on the fence waiting on my DM to decide if they had another load or not they decided to live load me. 3 hours later as I'm pulling to the scale I see two more of our trucks on doors getting loaded!.. I guess that's Truckin for you, if it went smooth all the time everyone would want to do this LOL
Silverdriver, MidWest_MacDaddy and dwells40 Thank this. -

That place
me ! A few weeks ago work had to pull a bunch of us off our loads just to shag loaded trailers to CB yard back and forth because they loaded a bunch of trailers up and they had to get them off the hill because of end of the month inventory / audit
Silverdriver Thanks this. -
Guess they were close to getting a bonus for monthly/quarterly sales so they opted to process a few extra orders this month vs next month… LOLSilverdriver and Loner2legs Thank this.

Runningman were you a company driver when you started with FCC or were you always an O/O?
Can any of the FCC drivers who are still here comment on this? If you do longhaul OTR division and stay out for a month at a time (and you communicate with dispatch that you're staying out for a month beforehand), like Runningman did when he first started there, can you get an average length of haul of 1500 miles and be able to go out West like he did at least somewhat frequently?
Or was that just because Runningman was maybe an O/O and not a company driver that he was able to get miles like that and he was able to go out West and to the Upper Midwest? -
When I first started I was a company driver. During orientation you will sit down face to face with your dispatcher, he will ask you where you like to run, what areas are not so desirable to run for you. They won’t make you any guarantees, but they do try and listen.
I went to FCC initially because they had West coast freight for solos, they ran me out there at least once a month, sometimes more. I also ran out there in all seasons, there are some at FCC that are only willing to run out West in the summer. Maybe because I never turned down freight, and was willing to run West in any season I got more loads out there, who knows.cdavis188, Vic Firth, BeHereNow97 and 3 others Thank this. -
I can't really speak to average length of haul, but I was real close to 38000 miles last quarter. I run out west at least 2 or 3 times a month. Every now and then, I will run from CA to NJ.cdavis188, dwells40, MidWest_MacDaddy and 2 others Thank this.
