At first, this might seem off topic, but I think it's actually important to this topic.
Various trucking companies compete for awards based on certain criteria as to whether or not they're the best companies to drive for (e.g. 20 best companies to drive for). These award logos are often printed on trailers in attempt to recruit drivers. My question is whether or not drivers here think these awards are based on valid (degree evidence supports conclusion) and reliable (relating to the amount of in from the measurement process) criteria. How much faith do you have in these measurements?

Still undecided, Saltyoldone, snowlauncher and 2 others Thank this. -
Its advertising and salesmanship.
Much like knowing a politician is lying simply because their mouth is moving, awards mean nothing, because you and 20 other companies could simply get together, survey your drivers and all be in the top 20 best carriers to work for... its a small club and small carriers simply arent representedTheLoadOut and Flat Earth Trucker Thank this. -
Can get any result from a poll; depends on which segment of the popluation or work force is polled.
Kinda like Hollywood movie awards; actors hugging and kissing each other and giving each other trophies.just_sayin, Lonesome and Flat Earth Trucker Thank this. -
My $0.02, worth exactly that.
Where I believe any company driver with 5 years or more experience should have the wherewithal to quickly form a list of carriers they would be willing to work for, I personally would research those carriers that I am not familiar with that happen to be on the top 20 list to gauge my interest. No decision would be made simply because a carrier happens to be on such a list, decisions would depend almost exclusively on actual wage (not "up to"), benefits, lanes. -
It’s a numbers game. Anyone can fudge numbers.

I only believe the awards I read about on Facebook.
Dave_in_AZ and Lonesome Thank this. -
I always believe slogans on the back of trailers, especially the Bible verses. Of course, what I believe about them may differ from what someone else believes.
I believe anyone that falls for any of that nonsense is a low brow. But hey, to each their own...Gearjammin' Penguin, Jenn72, N00bLaLoosh and 1 other person Thank this. -
