Brought to you in part by a Dictatorship that can't even spell CDL let alone know how to drive a truck
After all they feel they need to think for everyone..
Let's go Brandon !!91B20H8, Oscar the KW, TheLoadOut and 5 others Thank this. -
I have a 2021 Peterbilt
At first it was slamming the brakes on when it thought it seen a squirrel
Pete had it in several times, they got it better but never right
I had been dealing with a couple guys higher up in the company and one day while raining it was hitting the brakes, one of them told me to remove the cover that was over the radar hole and see what happens
That was a year ago and it’s been good ever since with the exception of some construction cross overs or if a lane is moved. The truck thinks your leaving the road and will slow or get ready to but that’s been manageable so far
Will see how this winter goes when I get North in the snowPamela1990 Thanks this. -
After most of the drivers complained about the dangers they have adjusted the parameters on our systems.
It still goes of w the dash lights, buzzers and the eld "eminent collision" warnings but no longer panic brakes at a sign, billboard or overpasses.
Still causes the driver a panic attack as they grab the wheel in a death grip though...lolPamela1990 and GYPSY65 Thank this. -
I’m looking for the proof that these systems will save lives.
There isn’t any from when they are being tested to the safety efficacy of these systems just speculation.
Like antilock brakes, these systems will cause more problems than they solve. In the case of antilock brakes in cars, there was an upsurge in accidents when they were introduced in mass because people thought they could stop faster and got lazy in their driving skills.
A lot of these safety systems in both cars and trucks come from universities and safety consultants which are in it for the money. Grants drive safety, outcomes are predetermined by the people giving the grants and it is used for this mandate crap, just like this idea diesel particles kill people, no proof of it in the United States, all the data comes from Asia and Europe.
Just taking a ride in one self-driving truck with a load on it a few weeks back, the engineer controlling the truck admitted that human nature and physics of an accident that puts other vehicles in harms ways in milliseconds can’t be predicted with these systems and failure of some systems like lane departure warning systems makes self-driving vehicles to avoid an incident or debris no where close as well as a human. This is proven with Teslas self-driving systems which are on the bleeding edge of the technology.Hammer166, Pamela1990, jason6541 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Goodysnap Thanks this.

What about an underground market that could, ummm, delete these systems
Pamela1990 Thanks this. -
I was running some doubles once, and someone cut in front of my safety gap going like 80+ mph than instantly went back into the right lane - Jesus Christ was that automatic breaking thing scary. It slammed on the brakes so hard it felt like I dropped a trailer
Pamela1990 and 77fib77 Thank this. -
Guess I won’t be buying anymore new trucks. Not that I had really planned on it anyway
Pamela1990 Thanks this. -
What system does everyone have that makes so much trouble. The freightliner built-in system works very good 4.0 with just front radar. I have not drove the new 5.0 with camera in windshield yet.
-
They see their exit and cut across all 3 lanes to make it
But. The radar can’t know that and that’s where these thing will end up one day causing a huge wreck and bendix and all the rest involved will have to get their lawyer team outPamela1990 Thanks this.
