Snackbar is chillin'....at Shaffer

The one and only holiday I refuse to miss is Christmas...if I did, my grandkids wouldn't forgive me...at least not until next Christmas.

 

If ever at a drop yard or customer facility and find a trailer that you're not taking, but needs to have road service come out to fix something before it moves...DON'T use the canned message #12 on the Peoplenet to breakdown. I used it the other day to report that trailer with the bad wiring at Tyson...but found out last night when I was calling in about that sunken trailer, that canned message goes nowhere. If you need to report one like that, call breakdown. They knew nothing about the message I sent.

 

Tell ya what, I hope that new W. Memphis yard they're building is much bigger than our current shared yard. Last night after I put up my curtains and went to sleep, it got crowded. There were 3 or 4 dropped trailers over on the Bowman side of the lot, along with some of our trucks with trailers just spending the night, and a bunch of trailers dropped in the driveway between the end of our rows and the building, with just enough room between to get one truck in or out. And, one driver decided he wasn't gonna try, just pulled in nose first right down the middle of the drive between our rows totally blocking the last 9 or 10 parking on both sides, including some where drivers like me, just finding a spot to sleep for the night...goes to show that some people just don't care how much they F-up other people by being lazy...there were spots to blindside into if he'd only taken the time...

 

I guess when the propaganda message went out over the Peoplenet about 'we need more quality drivers like you'...a seat warming steering wheel academy graduate who got their license on the bell curve must have thought they were talking directly to them and then recruited that driver.

 

The old bait and switch...offered another Tyson load, but pplan specifically said 'n' for live load. It said that it picks up any time tomorrow evening north of Ft. Worth, delivers any time Monday in Macon, GA. I accept it. And a very short time later, they change it to a live load at 11 pm tomorrow night....claiming that they are short of trailers to preload....########......they suddenly realized that, after I accept it, they're suddenly short of trailers...my big ole butt...they knew, they just didn't want to get me started again, especially after that last problematic Tyson load. I informed my A/M that, if they are anywhere as slow as Nebraska, I'll drop that trailer, then bobtail out, take a break, and come back when I am #### good and ready, and take all day Monday to deliver because I have 0 patience with Tyson loads...told him if they keep this up, come spring, I'll go back to open deck so I have some good weather to get use to tarps before snow and cold hits again.
