Get a lawyer, stop second guessing, stop thinking about any resolutions you can prompt because without legal advice and action, you are going to end up paying for it.
I’ve gone through this with a couple trucks, in each case my lawyer had to threaten the tow company and their insurance company with litigation after they claimed they had no liability involved after they destroyed the transmission.

My 2015 Volvo drive shaft always gets dropped. I can’t say what I wanna say about the Miami community, but that whole town is grimy. It’s the reason I prefer ft lauderdale.
I’m a company driver with a large fleet behind me, but next time I’d recommend calling Volvo or whoever the OEM of your truck is and asking who they partner with for towing in the area and use them. A freight liner, Volvo, or Pete dealer isn’t going to use the Rico suave living in his moms basement.
That’s what we do at aaa cooper for regional drivers.Last edited: Dec 18, 2021

I think some freightliners already have a warning sticker on the door jam. But I'm curious if it would be worth making something like this into a sticker that you could place next to the VIN tag and then you can show the tow truck driver and there should be no argument.

So I believe I am gonna write an email to my lawyer and my insurance company on same email. See if they all want to work this thing together. This should cover my butt regardless at that point.
Speed_Drums and Bean Jr. Thank this. -
So a quick update. I talked to my attorney this morning and she does not have license in FL so will not be using her but she is gonna recommend a lawyer she knows in the area.
On another note I did find the Insurance company for the Tow Company and filed a claim with them. Will see what happens in the next few days.
Also Volvo Dealer says 100 percent sure that I will need a new transmission from being towed without drive shaft being removed.Bean Jr. Thanks this.
