I believe it was $104k, with bonus structures. Do we know what type of bonuses and medical/dental?

To me, $104K as a salary implies that you can get it years on end (?) People seeing it would like to think that's their life changer, not some moment of good fortune. In other words, If I were that good a driver hired already by a well paying job - remember he is looking for a good driver and they don't sit idle unemployed - in order for me to hop on his trucks for $104 000, I'd need to feel confident that this is not on the condition that I can have it only as long as the market is allowing.

I, personally, don't think this salary is sustainable in the long run, it would be better to formulate it as a realistic earning potential to avoid future confusion or, even worse, any bitter disappointments later. I've been long enough at it to know that unless you an employee of a private fleet, or have a union job, such earnings from an owner operator owning a few trucks might be too ambitious. Having said that, I am sure that @scoobertdoo has all good intentions, and hope he has better predictions than I.

You're leaving a lot out, What is required besides driving, how many miles per week, benefits, loading and unload responsibilities. plus so much more. 104 g's sounds attractive on the surface but like so many things in life you have to look at the whole picture.

I was in this game once already between 2003 and 2012.

I ran an excavation company up north, when 2008 hit, I suddenly had heavy equipment trucks and excavation equipment that wasn't being used. We went out and grabbed a couple of car trailers and kept on rolling. I believe that any company with flexibility can survive any market conditions.

I guess I'm missing something. I don't understand how an auto or stick has anything to do with the ability to back up. Seems to me it has to do with the driver and steering wheel.

Someone above had set it helps them back up. Not sure how either but was pointing it out. I think he was saying if they drive a stick then they know how to drive vs a guy that drives an auto that doesn't know how to drive because he is a "steering wheel holder only"

In a way I agree. Driving with a stick - floating it - at least means that a person had to learn a little more than passing CDL test. Also the way a person does it might be indicative of what experience, if any, the person has had.

The problem with that is I learned to float at a school. Of course I already knew how to do it driving sticks in regular autos all my life. Funny is I would prefer to drive a stick in a sports car because it is funner. I am guessing some people feel the same way driving a semi.
