Great plains transport not so great

How is everyone doing?

 

Terrible, the floor creaks, the roof leaks, the sink leaks, blown tires, dead engines...having a bad week.

 

It will get better. Hang in there! Winter is coming!

Yes I always find there is more to the story that what is told in most cases, think he may have forgotten to read the fine print in the contract which most companies nowadays insist on a new employee signing. A company can not take money out of your pay without your consent and they'd be in a lot of trouble, the issue probably dates back to times when the company employed a number of very messy dirty drivers and now has lost patience and started charging a fee however if a driver does return a clean truck the company has no right what so ever to charge a cleaning fee if would be very similar to moving out of a rental apartment if you've left the premises in a clean state the land lord has no right to charge a cleaning fee.

 

I was told right up front there was an escrow charge when I signed on.

 

What is the purpose of the Escrow? What all does it cover?

 

Well I was going to drive for these guys until I discovered the escrow policy... $1000 escrow to drive the truck as the company driver? Get Outta Here... Then I see where people were charged $250 cleaning fee when returning trucks... What a ratchet operation..... I am going with Holland Enterprises in Mapleton which is pretty close to these guys and they offered me $1500 weekly plus bonus!

 

Got news for ya…. I think Holland has escrow too. Personally if I owned a company I’d do the same thing. I talked to a a few people over the years who had to recover and clean trucks when drivers quit, abandoned trucks, passed away in the truck or wound up unable to drive because they either flunked the DOT exam by their doctor or a medical emergency left them unable to drive… and some of the stories were quite horrific.

 

Ok I see that point and after watching and getting on board with Holland I see that the top drivers are not even getting 13000 miles a month according to your latest facebook postings.... I made the right decision. #ratchet
