They just haven't found anyone who knows how to operate them.

Most states even if they have plows or salt shakers are having trouble finding people who actually want to work to operate said equipment. LGB!

Yeah, our county leaders are wailing and lamenting that no one wants to drive the plows this winter.

But when you start off paying $16.00 an hour, what do you expect?

Yeah really. $16/hour to be on call, work anytime day or night, and risk injury (we've all seen plow wrecks) for what amounts to peanuts when you consider what's involved? No thanks...

Now if they can get them manned and throw down some salt and a plow or two, the motoring public would be most appreciative.

Don’t forget that you’ll always be one snowstorm away from being fired at all times.

Talked to Harvey and Nick this morning and both said to try heading in to the family dollar since they couldn't get a hold of the contractor. I decided to call the store to see if the contractor was there and he was and they rescheduled me for 0700 tomorrow. Hopefully roads be salted and plowed good tomorrow. Good thing I called the store cuz Id have driven all the way in just to turn around. Why couldn't anyone else think to call the store....

It’s not that they didn’t think of it, it’s most likely that they didn’t want to do it.
