Overhaul paperwork is in the truck - my notes here say previous owner did a "Step 3" Detroit overhaul at 874k.

That would make 454k miles on this set IF they were replaced at that time.

How does the low sulphur fuel affect the longevity of injectors. Seems like it would have to shorten it not?

The fuel isn't what it used to be. At one time a truck could sit 10 years and start up.

I have some sealed Atlantic brand fuel samples from 1968. There were promo samples the company gave out to distributors. I used to pull a tanker for one of them. Those samples are golden clear, and look as good as they did then I got them from the owner in 1982, which made them 14 years old then.

Detroit had a hard time about 10 years ago. Lots of people were getting bad squirters straight out of the box.

She Sounds like wonderful woman. Those are are type ya never wanna do them wrong, they work WITH you instead of AGAINST you. So many guys mess that up (cheat, or deceive them in some way) and lose a good partner. There's alot of woman out there that spend the money as fast as these guys can make it, and then they are ill prepared for these situations.

You got a keeper there @Crusader66

Watching the snow slowly melt. I guess we got about 6-8 inches and drifts to about 12".

I was supposed to load Friday in AR going to FL, but the AR Permit Dept was closed Thursday, and obviously not issuing permits for Friday. I felt bad having the customer push out the delivery another couple of days - but what are you gonna do. Loading alone would have been a mission let alone trying to make some miles on Friday.

Minor victory - I got the customer to agree to 'plus permits, plus escorts'. It'll require an escort in AL, but unsure about FL till they issue the permit.

Spent Tuesday night into Wednesday morning admitting the FIL to the hospital - got him checked out yesterday. Hospitals are a major PITA , especially now. Of course he tested positive for the Rona , so that means I've got the cooties too.

The county sent Gretchen out some guff on quarantining etc, funny they didn't bother with me. In fact - I don't think they even asked who I was that night. Barely made it home Wednesday AM in the pickup - sleet and snow was bucketing down.

With a bit of luck I'll be able to pull out of here on Monday. A bit tough knowing what to do when the FIL is here and Gretchen has to deal with everything, probably try to scratch something together to get home after FL and see how things go.

Great West sent the check for $3,050 to cover the tow bill, so that's kinda nice. I'm not an 'insurance claim' type of guy, I realize that's what it's there for, but it still leaves me feeling somewhat guilty.

That's a tough call with the FIL. Does Gretchen have anyone to call if she gets in a bind? Your freindly Chiropractor maybe? You can't just not work for an indefinite amount of time.

Hope it turns out as well as can be expected.
