Can be set by company, but I know when Qualcomm did updates to be legal on cdn hos, that’s when the 20mph yard move rule was put in. If the company doesn’t set a limit, it’ll be 20mph on cdn hos, and no limit on us hos. That’s how mine was setup anyways.

My company just started this and never said anything like it was their new policy. I never heard of this being a new rule. Maybe my company had many drives using Yard Move so they could keep moving. It still goes against your 70 hour clock. So I never really bothered to even use it.

We never would have had an ELD mandate up here if boneheaded Mega drivers could have kept keep their US and Canadian hours of service #### sorted out and not bankrupt them with fines in the US. Once the big carriers started pushing for it it was a done deal.

I could be wrong but I vaguely remember when eld rule first passed that yard move was set to a 20mph limit in the regulation

I haven't inadvertently had it happen lately, but there was no speed or mileage limit on the Keep Trucking that's been a thorn in my side now for over a year. I drove 150 miles at hwy speeds once with it because I thought it had flipped to line 2 and it hadn't.

I have taken to creeping around the yard because it doesn't always have a good enough signal to change back reliably from yard move.

The EROAD has finally gone away with the demise of 3g.
