Buying new truck from dealer

New vehicles of all types are in short supply right now because of the chip shortage.
Prices are jacked up because of that for both new and used.

Now is not the best time to buy any vehicle as it is a sellers market.

 

I ordered my truck in March of last year and it is suppose to be built tomorrow again. Most likely will get pushed back as with all trucks these days. It will take about a year for Volvo or Kenworth. Petes are gonna most likely be the better option on time wise.

 

I heard the old style western stars are in stock at some dealers ?

there no automobiles or pickups at car dealerships either

If you weren’t aware of the equipment shortages, you’re not ready to own your own truck. Trailers are the same way. Parts, tires and even oil. Fuel is going way up.

 

I would buy a used truck that is pretty much new. Cheaper and still pretty much brand new. And you’ll be able to find them. If you are looking try truckpaper.com

First posts are always hard to tell.

 

I would say i see dealers all over the place with a vast inventory on their lots but just grabbing whatever is on the lot wouldn't necessarily get it spec'd the way one would want. An some of those trucks i see may be reserved as well. For the OP ?, check out joplin peterbilt. They got some decent looking used trucks on the lot in addition to new trucks. Couple dealers in Springfield Mo that have more trucks on the lots than i can guess the # of. Prices are way up like others have said so it's up to you wether your business model will support that cost or not.
