It seems to be getting much harder to get insurance for a new authority in California. I remember reading someone in another thread recently that said they were told by Progressive that they no longer issue policies for new authorities in California. That can't leave too many other options, so no wonder it's so expensive.

I done a quick quote on progressives website for a new authority and it was 18,000 roughly paid in full. I havent checked anywhere else yet.

43k that is insanity. On a bad year that might be your profit, or your first year. Ouch.
little cat 500, LoneRanger and Siinman Thank this. -
Yeah. See. $43k on payments will be around $2.8k-$3k in month + truck/trailer payment+maintenance and personal bills and lot more. In bad year it’s end very bad for anyone. And for same time government saying “we should help to small business” bla bla bla. Always bs. Insurance company should be regulated as well as a freight brokers.

Surprisingly for me, even for non experienced driver with kinda old authority, with good safety score, clean driving record they’re made a bad offer. I could move my company to another state but in this case I don’t know exactly how I’m gonna pay a tax
